New Associate Chair Appointed to the Local Planning Appeal TribunalAugust 23, 2019
Tribunals Ontario is pleased to announce the appointment of Marie Hubbard as the interim Associate Chair of the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT), effective August 21, 2019.
Marie is a long-time public servant and will bring a wealth of knowledge, experience and leadership to LPAT and Tribunals Ontario. Some career highlights include serving as chair of LPAT’s predecessor, the Ontario Municipal Board, being the mayor of Newcastle and sitting on the board for the Durham Non-Profit Housing Corporation.

- The Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT) is an adjudicative tribunal that hears cases in relation to a range of municipal planning, financial and land matters.
- Tribunals Ontario is responsible for 19 tribunals that fall under the Ministry of the Attorney General. Tribunals conduct hearings, make decisions and resolve disputes on a wide variety of issues and operate independently of government.
