The chart shows a cycle with four interconnected boxes. From the top and counterclockwise, each box contain the following text:
- The provincial government (ministries) sets the provincial planning policy and the laws that OMB follows when making its decisions.
- Municipalities are responsible for determining the future development of their communities through the preparation of official plans, zoning by-laws and other planning tools.
- You can appeal to the Ontario Municipal Board if you disagree with a decision made at the municipal level.
- If you disagree with a decision made by the OMB, you can appeal to the Divisional Court.
