Proposed Rules and Effective Date for the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT)

March 2, 2018 | News

Bill 139, the Building Better Communities and Conserving Watersheds Act was introduced with the intent to make changes to the land-use planning appeal system in Ontario.  This includes the transition of the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) to become the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal (LPAT), with changes to its jurisdiction and processes.

These changes will come into effect on April 3, 2018, as specified by proclamation.

As part of this transition, we would also like to share our proposed Rules of Practice and Procedures for LPAT, and we welcome your feedback.
