During this fall, the Environment Land and Tribunals Ontario (ELTO) welcomed the following new members:
Dan Weagant, ARB, Full-Time
- November 28, 2016 – November 27, 2018
Dan Weagant has been a member of the Assessment Review Board since 2010 and the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects Examining Board since 2013. Mr. Weagant has recently been appointed as a full-time member. Dan Weagant holds a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Toronto. Since 1985, he has worked in the area of land use planning and landscape architecture, principally in land development in Southwestern Ontario.
Ian Rowe, OMB, Part-Time
- October 11, 2016-October 10, 2018
Ian Rowe practiced law for over 35 years and concentrated his practice in the field of municipal and planning law. He has appeared as counsel before all levels of Courts in Ontario and many different administrative tribunals including over 200 hearings before the Ontario Municipal Board. Mr. Rowe has been active in the community, most notably with the Barrie Royals Basketball Club and the MacLaren Art Centre. Mr. Rowe holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School.
Gerald Swinkin, OMB, Part-Time
- August 24, 2016 – August 23, 2018
Gerald Swinkin is a lawyer who was called to the Ontario Bar in 1979. Mr. Swinkin articled at the Ontario Ministry of Treasury, Economics and Intergovernmental Affairs. Mr. Swinkin’s legal career commenced as a staff lawyer in the Legal Department of the City of Mississauga and concluded as a partner in the Toronto law firm of Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP, where he practiced municipal and planning law. Mr. Swinkin holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto.
Subuola Awoleri, ARB, Full-Time
- November 16, 2016-November 14, 2018
Subuola Awoleri is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada. Ms. Awoleri’s community involvement has included presenting seminars and workshops on family law issues and includes serving as a Women’s Coordinator with Centre of Life Church. She holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Alberta and was called to the Ontario Bar in 2006. Ms. Awoleri has been a part-time member of the Assessment Review Board since 2014.
